A technician app that works where the signal does not

Plant rooms, estates and borehole sites often have poor or no mobile data. The technician app is built offline first: the day's jobs are on the phone, the whole visit can be done without a connection, and everything syncs by itself when the phone is back online.

Availability: Android and iPhone apps are built and being prepared for store release; the phone web app works today.

The problem

Paper, photos in a chat and double entry

Technicians write on paper, send photos on WhatsApp and the office types it all in again later. A lost network means a lost visit record.

The whole job offline

See the job, follow the checklist, take photos, record readings, add parts used and collect the customer's signature without a connection.

Safe sync

Each change is sent once and only once. If the office changed the job in the meantime, the app says so in plain words instead of overwriting anything.

Readings that mean something

Record pressure, conductivity, TDS, pH and other readings. They are judged against your own bands for that kind of system.

Parts and stock

Record the filters and parts used. They come off the technician's van stock and can go on the invoice.

Arrival check

When a technician starts work the app checks they are at the site. It never blocks the work, it only lets the office know when something looks off.

Notifications

Reminders for today's visits and changes to assigned jobs arrive as push notifications on Android.

How offline sync works Technician phones keep working without a signal and store each change. When a connection returns the changes are sent once to the server, which applies them and updates the office screens and the customer. How it works

Three steps

  1. 1

    Open the day

The technician sees their jobs for the day, in order, with the address and a button for maps.

  2. 2

    Do the visit

Checklist, photos, readings, parts and signature. No signal needed.

  3. 3

    Sync

When the phone finds a connection the work goes to the office on its own.

Questions

About technician phone apps

Is there an Android app and an iPhone app?

Both have been built, with the same offline design. They are being prepared for release in the app stores. A phone-friendly web version for technicians works in any modern browser today. Ask us about the current status.

What happens if two people change the same job?

The app compares the change with the job as it is now. If it can no longer be applied, the app tells the technician why and nothing newer is overwritten.

Can the technician turn off location sharing?

No. Location is shared with the office while the technician is working a job, and the company can also choose working hours for it. Technicians are told clearly when it is on.
