Quotes let a customer agree to work and pay a deposit before you start. Open Billing, Quotes.

Make and send a quote

  1. Choose New quote and pick the client. Add lines for the work and parts. A quote can cover several of the client’s jobs; each line has its own job.
  2. Set the deposit if you want one.
  3. Choose whether the customer pays the online processing fee.
  4. Send: the customer gets an email with a PDF and a link to the online copy (up to five addresses).

The customer decides

From the link or the portal, the customer can accept or decline. A “no” must come with a reason.

Take the deposit

Staff record a deposit with Record payment and choose the quote, or the customer pays it online. A deposit can be recorded only for an accepted quote that has a deposit, up to what the deposit still needs. Screens hide “Pay the deposit” once it is covered.

Convert to an invoice

When the work is done, convert the accepted quote into an invoice. The deposit already paid is counted against it.
