What is water treatment management software?
A plain definition of water treatment management software, what it includes, who uses it and how it differs from spreadsheets and general tools.
By the AquaOps team
Water treatment management software is a system that a water treatment service company uses to run its work: the clients, their sites and the treatment systems on them, the jobs and scheduled maintenance, the technicians’ visits, the readings, the stock, the invoices and payments, and what customers can see. AquaOps is an example.
What it includes
- Clients, sites and systems: who you serve, where, and what equipment is installed, with warranty and service history.
- Jobs and scheduling: requests, visits, checklists, photos, approvals and service reports. See job management.
- Maintenance plans: repeat service that books itself and reminds customers. See maintenance plans.
- Technician apps: a phone app for the field, ideally working offline. See the technician app.
- Water quality readings: recorded per system and judged against your limits. See water quality.
- Stock and parts: stores, vans and parts used on jobs. See inventory.
- Money: quotes, invoices, payments and reports. See invoicing and online payments.
- Customer access: a portal, arrival links and tickets. See the customer portal.
How it differs from other tools
A spreadsheet holds data but does not book visits, remind customers or work offline on a phone: see spreadsheets vs software. A general field service tool can schedule jobs but usually has no idea of water quality bands, system types, warranty or consumables. A general accounting package handles the books but not the visit.
Who uses it
Service companies for RO plants, softeners, borehole treatment, bottled water plants, pools and industrial systems, and facility managers who receive the service. See industries.
What it is not
It is not a laboratory system, does not analyse samples, and does not give tax or legal advice. Device monitoring (sensors and meters feeding readings automatically) is in early access and is described on the capabilities page.
