# Use the technician app when there is no signal

How a technician works a whole visit offline in the AquaOps app: the day's jobs, checklist, photos, readings, parts and signature, then sync.

The technician app keeps the day’s jobs on the phone, so the whole visit works with or without a signal. Android and iPhone apps are built; the Android beta can be downloaded from the [download page](https://aquasops.com/download), and a phone web version works in a modern browser. Sign in with your company account.

## Start the day

Open **My day**. You see your jobs in order, with the address, notes and a button for maps. The app asks for location access: location is shared with the office while you work a job, and the company may also choose working hours for it.

## Do the visit

1. Move the job to **On the way** when you set off; the customer can see you coming if the office shared an arrival link.
2. At the site, move it to **On site**. The app checks that you are at the site; it never blocks your work.
3. Follow the **checklist** for the type of work and take **photos**.
4. Record **readings**. Each one shows its band (excellent, good, fair, poor) against your company’s limits.
5. Add the **parts used**. They come off your van’s stock.
6. Collect the **customer’s signature** (or type the name) when the job asks for it.
7. **Submit** the job for approval or complete it, as the workflow requires.

## Sync

Everything above is stored on the phone. When the phone finds a connection it sends each change once. If something cannot be applied (the job was cancelled, for example) the app tells you why. A small indicator shows what is waiting to send.

## Tips

- Open the day’s jobs once while you still have signal.
- Keep the app up to date. A forced update screen tells you if your version is too old.
- Notifications about today’s visits arrive as push notifications on Android.

## Questions and answers

What if the office changes the job while I am offline?

When the phone syncs, each change is checked against the job as it is now. If a change can no longer be applied, the app says why in plain words and nothing newer is overwritten.
